Aaron RodgersA family feud has been making headlines for years – but the reason behind his exclusion with an older brother Luke Rodgers has remained a mystery.
Aaron is said to have fallen out with his parents, Ed a Darla Rodgerswhile in relation to Olivia Munn. Aaron denied that Munn, whom he dated from 2014 to 2017, had anything to do with the rift in Ian O’Connora new book, Out of the Dark: The Aaron Rodgers Mysterywhich hit the shelves in August 2024.

Luke attended the wedding alongside his parents and later posted photos with hashtags that apparently pointed to Aaron’s absence. “#gwirfriendsshowup … #wouldntmissitfortheworld … #rememberwhereyoucame,” Luke wrote alongside acceptance snaps, in the book.
Aaron allegedly felt that Blay-Miezah “could and should have honored his request not to invite his family” to the ceremony. The NFL quarterback argued in the book that his former University of California, Berkeley teammate did not understand “the complexity of the whole situation” when the Rodgers family kept him on the guest list.
A family friend, meanwhile, told O’Connor that the wedding was “the last straw for Luke.” According to the insider, “He was like, ‘Who are you? I don’t even want to come into contact with you anymore.’”
Before the marital disaster, Luke and Aaron “were close enough to live together in Green Bay and in Del Mar,” O’Connor wrote.

During the early days of Aaron’s career with the Green Bay Packers, Luke was a bartender and sports marketing consultant. He later launched his clothing company Pro Merch with a partner Austin Casselmanwhich included shirts with Aaron’s face on them in his team colours.
The brand eventually signed a deal with Target and agreements with Aaron’s, Chicago’s Devin HesterSeattle Marshawn LynchHouston Silver Foster and 49ers star Patrick Willis and more about their name and likeness.

Aaron claimed he helped Luke and Casselman get a group licensing deal with the NFLPA but was not interested in being a founder “because I had nothing to do with it, and (Luke) was selling jerseys with my picture on it.”
According to Casselman, a “Relax” shirt with Aaron’s face on it “sold tens of thousands in a short amount of time” in 2014. Aaron was asked about it before the playoffs that season, saying, “Well, I can tell you you ‘have seen zero of that money,” per O’Connor.
Luke, meanwhile, allegedly grew “frustrated” when it was said that Aaron “didn’t get back to him on design approval in a timely manner while he was in his season with the Packers.”
Aaron was said to be “not a fan” of his brother using his picture on the shirts, but claimed that Pro Girl wasn’t part of the reason he wasn’t close with Luke now. Aaron told the author that their problems “started long before” they butted heads over the merchandise deal.
Although Luke refused to be interviewed for the book, the author continued to dive into his problems with Aaron. As well as the shirt battles, Aaron is allegedly “unhappy” that Luke appeared on the 2012 show Clean Break series, which was a show about men escaping their everyday lives for an adventure in Hawaii.
“Aaron was outraged by the idea that Luke needed to break free from his shadow after he had given him financial support,” O’Connor claimed.
In the spring of 2015, Luke allegedly tried to sit down with Aaron to talk about their split shortly after Aaron filmed Celebrity Jeopardy! However, the New York Jets quarterback canceled the meeting because he had to driving then-boyfriend Munn to a film set in the desert.
Aaron reportedly texted Luke that he was “committed to his girlfriend and wasn’t available to meet,” O’Connor wrote, noting that the exchange “is believed to be the last communication between both for years.”
Although Aaron and Luke remain estranged, Luke commented on his brother’s career in March 2017. “I think he’s got a lot left in the tank,” Luke told TMJ4 at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis at the time. “Quarters is such a cerebral situation that even as you get older – look what Tom Brady can do, your arm may start to deteriorate, Aaron has not. Your feet might slow down, I don’t think it’s slowed down either.”
Luc recognized that he had not seen Aaron off the field for a while. “It’s hard not to talk to your brother,” he admitted. “It’s not fun. It sucks.”

In his Netflix docs, Aaron Rodgers: EnigmaAaron seemed to be grappling with the possibility of one day reconciling with Luke and his estranged family members.
“People ask me, ‘Is there hope for reconciliation?'” he said in the seriesreleased on December 17, 2024. “I say, ‘Yes of course. Of course.’ I don’t want them to fail, struggle, have any strife or issues. I do not wish them any ill will at all. It’s more like this – we’re just different stages on a timeline of our own journeys.”
