A steady decline for the Indian skipper in ODIs
The 37-year-old had a stellar career in limited overs cricket so far. Rohit has scored a total of 10,866 runs in 265 ODI matches so far. But in recent years, his batting average has been on the decline. Rohit, the only international cricketer to score a double century three times in his career, had a batting average of 70s at the height of his prowess. However, in the 2024 season it has been reduced to 56.50. This may be a dream for certain batsmen, but it is a sign that the peak for the Indian skipper has come to an end. In the 2024 season, Rohit had scored a total of 678 races in 12 matches. Rohit’s last ODI century with the bat came on 12 October 2023 during the World Cup match against Afghanistan.
A happy ending to Rohit’s T20I career
The only happy show for 2024 in Rohit’s career was in the shortest format of the game. Rohit led the team T20 World Cup glory and also had a stellar T20I season with the bat. Rohit played 11 T20I matches in 2024 and scored a total of 378 races including his career best score 121 races against Afghanistan. Additionally, Rohit also played some impeccable knocks during the T20 world cup, including an unbeaten 52 runs against Ireland and 92 against Australia.
