“Ryan would always try to help somehow, even if it was a stranger,” Stephanie Kinger said. “He was just a very sincere man – he meant what he said, and said what he was in mind. He was hot.”
Ryan was very close to his brother -near Jacob because they followed the footsteps of his father to enter law enforcement agencies. He gladly played golf and spending time with his friends and girlfriend, shared his parents.

In August 2025, Ryan underwent surgery in the eyes of Lasik, the decision that “changed his life forever,” Kingerskis reports.
Ryan wore glasses and high school contacts, but he chose the operation so that they no longer needed.
“My son was told that he would enter, there would be a procedure and return to work in a couple of days,” said Tim Kinger. “It has never been.”

On the way home, Ryan said that “something wasn’t right”, complaining that his right eye was blurry.
“We told him to give him a while, but it just deteriorated,” his father said.
As the weeks passed Ryan suffered from the litany symptoms, including Severe headachesDouble vision, star explosions, ghosts, haloes and other visual disorders.
“It ruined his life. It exhausted him.”
“It was a complication after complication and without improvement,” Stephanie Kinger said. “We have made constant efforts to see different professionals trying to get different opinions.”
“They just said he needed to cure.”

As the consequences deteriorated, Ryan left the activity he once loved and became very restrained, his parents said.
In January 2025, five months after the operation, Ryan took his life.

Ryan’s parents are unwavering that his suicide was not the result of the previous Problems with mental health.
“If it was a question of mental health and what my son had dealt with before, I wouldn’t talk about it,” Tim Kinger said. “But there is only one reason why he is not here.”
Since then, Kinger has been linked to other families who had similar experience. “We hear from people constantly who just say, ‘I don’t know if I can do it anymore. I don’t know if I can take it, “said Ryan’s father.
Ryan’s parents are now trying to increase awareness and call for “transparency and accountability”. They also filed a complaint to the FDA.
“What we really are looking for is the accountability from the industry,” Stephanie Kinger said. “We want the FDA to activate, start investigating, start looking deeper, start finding out what long -term consequences.”

“The alleged consent is just a piece of paper that they give you without explaining,” said Tim Kinger. ‘The form of consent must say that lasik can and caused Permanent damage It makes you kill yourself because it is a fact. “
