Utah Governor Spencer CoxHe also confirmed that the suspect in custody during a press conference followed what he described as “political murder.”

Kirk died on Wednesday after being shot during an appearance at the University of Utah Valley in Orem, Utah. Cofounder Turning Point Usa was 31.
“With a heavy heart we, Turning Point Usa’s leadership team, are writing to inform you of Charlie early this afternoon, to go to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in heaven,” he read a declaration of a turning point.
Kirk was on the college’s campus as part of his journey back in America. According to photos shared through social media, Kirk appeared to have been shot in the neck while speaking under a tent in the University courtyard. According to CNN, the shot was taken from nearly 200 yards away.
Initially, an individual was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, but that person was not thought to have been the suspect, by multiple report. According to officials who spoke during the same press conference, that person was, however, ordered on the impedance of justice pay.
Kirk has been survived by his wife. Erika Frantzveand their two children.
In 2012, Kirk founded Turning Point Usa when he was 18 years old. Following the creation of the organization, Kirk became one of the most influential voices in the Conservative media. She also held her own podcast, entitled “The Charlie Kirk Show.”
Kirk worked alongside the President Donald Trump to help be elected to a second season. Trump shared a statement on Wednesday following the death of the political influencer.
“The big, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk, has died,” Trump wrote through Truth Social. “No one understood or had the heart of the youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by everyone, especially me, and now he is no longer with us. Melania and my sympathy go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and her family. Charlie, we love you!”
