A person arrested after a car crash into a Russian consulate in Australia

The man was arrested after driving a car via the Russian Consulate gate in Sydney.

Police were summoned to the consulate in the suburb of the hive at about 08:00 local time, after the notice that an unauthorized vehicle was parked on the roadway.

They tried to talk to the driver before he allegedly made his way through the gate at the entrance to the property.

The 39-year-old guy was arrested at the scene and assisted the police in their requests, police said. One officer was injured in his hand but there were no other injuries.

Police did not find additional information about the driver and their motivation, but they say the requests are ongoing.

The witness told The Sydney Morning Herald that the man was arrested without a clear struggle.

“I just saw the police depicting weapons in a gentleman, asking a gentleman to get out of his car,” the neighbor, who wished to stay unknown, told the newspaper.
