Travelers arriving in the Music City may soon be greeted Trump International Airport.
On Friday, Rep. Todd Warner, R-Tennessee, introduced House Bill 217, which would rename Nashville International Airport in honor of Trump.
The bill obliges the administration of the capital airport to take measures to change the name.
These actions will include creating new signage, changing registered trademarks with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), revising all existing contracts and legal documents to reflect the new name, and updating local, state and federal agency references.

During the transition period, the bill says the airport can do business using its current name with the designation “doing business as Trump International Airport” or “d/b/a Trump International Airport.”
If passed, the bill will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
This is not the first time the legislator has pushed for a renaming airport after Trump.

As recently as April 2024, a group of House Republicans also pushed to rename Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia after Trump.
Rep. Guy Reschenthaler, R-Pennsylvania, the GOP deputy speaker of the House, introduced the bill with six co-sponsors.
“In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump,” Reschenthaler previously told Fox News Digital. “As millions of domestic and international travelers fly through an airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity and strength than hearing ‘Welcome to Trump International Airport’ as they land on American soil.”
If approved, it would be the second airport in D.C. to be named after a Republican commander-in-chief Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia.

Rep. Barry Moore, D-Alabama, previously told Fox News Digital that “we will do the same for another one of our greatest presidents.”

Representative Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., also echoed Moore and said, “I see no more appropriate recognition than to name both airports in our nation’s capital after two of America’s greatest presidents: DCA after President Reagan and Dulles after President Trump”.
