A blanket of snow covers parts of New York and Nebraska

Parts of the US were covered in snow this weekend as a severe winter storm swept across the country.

People in Syracuse, New York, battled high winds to clear snow-covered roads, while wintry conditions were also seen in Lowville, further north.

North Platte, Nebraska, was also hit by snow and ice.

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory warning that driving conditions will worsen due to ice and snow on roads.
