If Adriel Sanders For the first time she visited Paris in 2017, she immediately felt at home, she says.
“It clicked instantly. I liked, ‘This is your home. Here you have to be in the world, and that’s where you will always be. I knew I had to move to Paris, “Sanders says, says CNBC.
Sanders returned to Paris several times, continuing to work as a general lawyer for public trade in Washington, Columbia District, she earned $ 286,656 a year and lived in a studio apartment where she paid about $ 3,000 a month, according to the CNBC documents.
“I did not like the work and waiting for work all the time, and I will probably be one of the only lawyers who say it, but I don’t think it’s intellectually stimulating,” Sanders says. “I was deeply and truly unhappy to the depth of my little heart and a small soul. I knew it wasn’t steadily.”
Sanders says she felt that she had first visited Paris at home.

Three years after this initial trip to Paris, Sanders quit his job, violated the rent and started the process of receiving a French visa. It landed in the city the day before France closed its borders because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The slowness of the world meant that France rose. We all acted from the same confusion level, so it was good that I was confused, but everyone else was,” Sanders says. “I arrived the day before the blocking, so there was no one, and it was a complete dystopia.”
When Sanders first moved, she lived in several short -term rent before signing a rent for a one -room apartment. She paid 1550 euros or 1815 US dollars and lived in it for two years. Since moving from this apartment, Sanders has been living in a two -room apartment with one bathroom, where she pays $ 2540 a month rent.
Since Sanders signed a rent for what is called an “unrestrained apartment”, it meant that it would have to spend money by buying its own kitchen cabinets, a plate and a washing machine. It estimated that she spent about $ 5,000 in the kitchen and almost $ 10,000 to make a place to feel home.
When Sanders first moved, the rent was $ 2319. Since then, it has increased to $ 2540.

In addition to the rent, Sanders spend about 933 euros or $ 1093 on average expenses such as cable, internet, tenant insurance, dry cleaning, electricity and gas, private health insurance, products and Navigo transport map.
It also has an annual Louvre subscription, which costs 95 euros a year, and the second museum card, which can add an additional 50-100 euros a year before its costs. Sanders also pays 1069.20 euros, or approximately 1252 dollars, every year for a guarantor service, allowing it to continue to rent in France.
Now that Sanders lives in her apartment for more than three years, she plans to review her home search for purchase. She started looking for two years ago, but stopped after the tour in many places, which, in her opinion, were overstated.
“With the advice of friends who recently acquired in Paris, I am again determined. The search for the right place will be grinding, but I am tired of renting in Paris,” Sanders says. I desperately need more space and I want to get a dog. “
When Sanders rented her two -bedroom apartment, she spent about $ 5,000, preparing for use.

While Sanders wants to create roots in Paris, she also hopes to buy a house in the countryside.
“I don’t think it would be nice to put the dog like a gold retriever in the Central Paris where he has no rear yard, so it’s my dream,” she says.
Life in France also inspired Sanders to finally fulfill their true dreams to start its own fashion brand Adriel Felis. Sanders says he takes $ 200,000 from his business and $ 70,000 from her personal savings and puts it to a new entrepreneurial enterprise. This money and its profits from creating content help finance her dreams.
“I love fashion and I’m so glad that I can just say it now and be in advance because it has been viewed as something that made me less serious,” she says.
Sanders self-financing the production of its original samples and prototypes, but hopes to raise at least $ 2 million and prepare its 10-time collection for launch in 2026.
Sanders does not plan to return to the US.

When Sanders worked as a lawyer, she walked through the office building and dreamed of starting a fashion line, and now seeing that it came to life still does not feel real.
“There is still a part of me that strives and pushes more, so I don’t know if I am ready to say that I am proud, but I feel like I’m really happy that I haven’t been so long and it is huge for me,” she says.
“My goal and desire – to inspire women – especially black and brown women – just chase their dreams and goals. If they do it, it doesn’t matter. The most important thing they’re brave, moving wisely and just go for it.”
Since Sanders has been in France for about five years, she says she does not think that if she will return to life in the US.
“I can’t live there. I can’t function that. I can’t go back to corporate America and keep my tongue every five seconds every day,” she says. “I wish I had the courage to move before. I would like I had the courage to do it after my first semester of law school to either register with the business and do something else that would give me more options.”
