In 2017, Arc BarnardA college student at the time made a trip to India with his mom. This experience was so impressive that he eventually inspired him on a full-time traveler he did not know for him.
“The trip to India was an open experience for me. It was the first time I was so foreign, so stimulated, and for me it was this epiphany that I needed to experience more,” Barnard says, CNBC says.
“The most exciting part is to talk to people and see how everything works. The immersion was what I really got.”
Barnard graduated in 2018 and moved to New York to work at Walmart. At the time, he earned about $ 60,000 a year, working in the e -commerce sector, and although he did not like his work, it was definitely not his admiration.
“I think part of me was looking for more meaning in my work,” he says.
Based on the US, Barnard went to places such as Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Working at Walmart, Barnard created a YouTube channel dedicated to its journey. The first trip he participated on his channel was a visit to Saudi Arabia in 2020.
“At that time, Saudi Arabia was, at least from this mysterious country from an American point of view. It was closed for decades and they have just opened for tourism,” he says. “Then people thought I was crazy. My parents asked me not to go. My grandfather offered me to cover. But I went for it and it was strange.”
Later in the same year, Barnard was fired from Job from the pandemic. While others may have been nervous about the unemployed, Barnard saw it as an opportunity to bet on himself.
“My dream was to go full -time, live abroad, immerse themselves in these foreign places and make a living with YouTube.”
Barnard moved to Istanbul in 2023.

From New York to Istanbul, Turkey
About three months after he was fired, Barnard booked a one -sided ticket from the United States. In January 2021, he arrived in Serbia and then went two years before he decided to make Istanbul, Turkey, his home base in 2023.
“Growing up in Connecticut, I never imagined that when I live in a place like Istanbul, or went to all the places that I was lucky to go,” Barnard says. “I went back to Istanbul again and again. This is a really perfect place for what I do. It’s a large center of the world. I love the language, I love culture, I love history.”
His time abroad inspired Barnard to start boutique -tourist company called Arc Barnard travel. They take small groups from 8 to 10 people to cultural tours, such as Iraq, Syria and Pakistan. Barnard also offers private tours.
Barnar’s travel abroad inspired him to a tourist business, where he directs customers to exciting tours.

“These are really real trips. I mean it’s as real as he is. Such places as Egypt and India are strange, but they have a mass tourist industry, and a place like Iraq, so new in tourism that you get a really true experience,” Barnard says. “People are glad that you have. Hospitality comes out of this world, and everything you see has no equal.”
YouTube Barnard has helped attract its first customers to its travel company. Many areas presented in his early videos are where he offers his exciting excursions.
“A lot of time people will believe that we are there in a business, and as soon as we tell them that we are there as tourists, people are delighted,” Barnard says. “They are really proud to demonstrate their country. They are really pleased to see that foreigners are interested in visiting their country and find out about them.”

It’s been over four years since Barnard left the US, he says traveling the world has taught it much more than in America.
“I think the Americans may have the impression in the head that the whole world hates us, which was not my experience,” he says. “We have nominated geographically in the Western Hemisphere there, and there are so many world.”
