Potter praises West Ham’s ‘togetherness’ after sealing ‘far from perfect’ first win in charge against Fulham

“There was only one team that was on the pitch trying to win the game until we conceded the first goal we gave them.

“We controlled the game and hit the bar. We have shown the quality so far but we have to maintain the standards throughout the game.

“We also hit another on Raúl Jimenez’s crossbar, and even with the mistakes we made in the first half, the result could have been completely different if we had been clinical.

“In the second half, we knew we had to start strong and score early to come back and get a result. We did that and then we gave them another goal. We did everything much more than West Ham.

“We were dominant as in all the games. But it wasn’t reflected in the result at all, but that’s the reality of the Premier League.”
