Arsenal has announced the signing of Bayer Leverkusen Piero Hincapie’s defender.
The International Ecuador has signed a long -term contract with the Gunners in an agreement that could eclipse £ 50 million.
After adding the tastes of Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze this summer, the Gunners added another strong tool next to them before the season.
Hincapie made 166 appearances in all competitions for Leverkusen after joining in 2021 and was part of the Xabi Alons team that won the Bundesliga and the German Cup.
Speaking of his new addition, titular coach Mikel Arteta said: “Piero has a real physical presence, with his versatility and tactical flexibility that give us strong defensive options added.
“He is a great character, with a very good combination of youth and maturity. It will make our squad stronger and more competitive as we continue this season.”
Oleksandr Zinchenko has also left the club with Jakub Kiwior, which means that Hincapie will immediately challenge for an initial 11th place.
