Wolfhard and Billy Brek Cowrote and hell coded from summer after meeting on set Ghostbusters: Afterlife years ago. Real surprise Hell of summer is how funny it is. Bryk may have given himself most of the funny lines, but this movie works because his ensemble knows how to get laughing out of the toughest scenes. The downside of being so funny is that Hell of summerHumor completely defeats the horror. Some of the killings are scary, but never very scary. Had this film not had a R degree, it could have been as family friendly as it gets.

Too much blood, gut, contamination and sexually suggestive dialogue for this film to go down to a PG-13 score. But if there is a horror fan shooter in your family they can’t take the more serious genre movies then Hell of summer is the best time to start.
