There is always something a bit surreal about visiting the earlier works of a big film star and finding out how crass they are. For example, Paul Rudd is now considered a clean, incapacitated dude who can easily head franchises like Ant-Man and Ghostbusters. But in 2009 he starred in the unhealthy comedy I love you, man. It included stars from The office and How I met your motherAnd my perception changed completely from what a romantic comedy could be.
That is because I love you, man (mainly) avoids the most annoying trope of this genre: the endless injection of the leading couple. In this film, the love between our two leaders (newly engaged young professionals) is never involved. Instead, the central drama focuses on how Whiz real estate (Paul Rudd, known to be genre fans for his main role in Ghostbusters: Afterlife) He does not have enough male friends to choose someone as his best man.
That all changes when he meets a remarkable investor played by Jason segelis best known for both hitting comedy How I met your mother. Both characters have an easy chemistry, and their hangout sessions (which include everything from fish taco banquets to guitar jam sessions) quickly establish their breeze friendships. But it is a friendship that is threatened with some drama behind the scenes that, if left unchecked, could end the whole marriage before it begins.
Segel performance on How I met your mother cement his reputation as a Sitcom legend. Joining him is his fellow Rashida Jones, best known for her performances at The office and Parks and leisure. They have a great chemistry together and with Paul RuddAnd this trio breathes life into a script that is amazingly honest about headlines such as love, sex and friendship.
By I love you, man He has plenty to say about those topics, he never gets too serious or even a little preaching. Instead, the heaviness of what he has to say is perfectly canceled by the sharp razor humor that holds up is amazingly good. It’s a movie you can enjoy as a punching pomp, but you can also enjoy it as one of the best drains ever made.
Won over the judges: on Rotten tomatoes. I love you, man It has a critical score of 82 per cent and the audience score of 74 per cent, meaning that casual critics and audiences have enjoyed this film and that it is unhealthy. Generally, audiences praised the film for her warm -hearted performances, and elevated a film all with a simple fraudulent default.
