Marcus Freeman Notre Dame and Joanna Wife’s Relationship Timeline

Head Coach -Football Notre Dame Marcus Freeman had his wife, Joanna FreemanBy his side for every step of his gridiron journey.

Marcus, 39, and Joanna met during the time of Marcus at the University of Ohio, where he was a star -line back between 2004 and 2008. According to Yahoo! SportBoth were introduced by Marcus’s best friend, Calvin Pruittwhile Marcus and Joanna live in the same Columbus flats.

At the time, Joanna was studying at the University of Otterbein nearby in Westerville, Ohio. He would go on to become a news correspondent at WBNS-Channel 10 in Columbus before she and Marcus started their family together.

Marcus was drafted in the fifth of the 2009 NFL draft round by the Chicago Bears – and would later sign up for Buffalo and Houston Texans Bills Practice Squads the same year – though he never saw any NFL game steps.

He started his training career as a graduate assistant in Ohio province before seeing stop at Kent Provincial University, Purdue University and Cincinnati University. Marcus was named head coach Notre Dame in December 2021.

Along the way, Joanna has been there for the whole – including the Freemans becoming parents of six children together: son Antagonist17, daughter Chance12, son Gino11, son Nico9, girl Capers7, and son Rocco6.

2007

Marcus and Freeman welcomed their first child, son Antagonist. Now higher at Penn Penn in Mishawaka, Indiana, Vinny plays safety for the school’s football team He is also a skilled wrestler, announcing his commitment to Cornell University in April 2025.

2010

The couple married a few months before Freeman’s training tour began as an assistant in his Alma Mater, Ohio Province.

2012

Marcus and Joanna welcomed their first daughter, ChanceWhile Marcus was the coach of the line supporters at Kent Provincial University.

2013

The couple’s second son, GinoIt was born while Marcus was the trainer of the Line Headers at the University of Purdue.

2015

Marcus and Joanna welcomed their son, NicoWhile Marcus was still working in Purdue. He would become a defensive coordinator at the University of Cincinnati in 2017.

2017

The Freemans welcomed their second daughter, Capersto the world.

In a shared photo by Marcus by InstagramAll four of Capri’s brothers and sisters smiled and set with their little sister shortly after birth.

“Welcome to this world and our Capri family !!” Marcus wrote.

2018

Sixth Baby Marcus and Joanna, son NicoBorn just before the holidays.

“Merry Christmas from Freeman’s crew,” shared Marcus by Instagram In December 2018, showing his whole family smiling in front of a fireplace full of stockings.

2020

Marcus celebrated the couple’s wedding anniversary with a slideshow of images of their life together.

“Celebrate 10 years of being married to the love of my life and the glue to the Freeman family,” Marcus wrote by Instagram. ” -Happy birthday yes!”

2021

The whole Freeman family was on hand when Marcus signed a contract to come the 30th head coach in Notre Dame’s history.

2023

Marcus celebrated Mother’s Day with a picture of Joanna and his mother, Chong Freeman.

2025

Joanna and all six children is celebrated on the field with Marcus After Notre Dame defeated Georgia at the Sugar Bowl, winning a trip to the college’s football semifinals.

Marcus and Joanna took their boys to Look at Royal Rumble 2025 WWE in Indianapolis.

The family had seats for the show, held at Lucas Oil Stadium, the home of Indianapolis Colts the NFL. During the event, the Freemans were shown on the huge video screens inside, which removed a heartfelt response from the more than 70,000 fans present.

2025

During an interview with Ryan Clark on “Pivot Podcast” In August, Marcus was asked for his good looks and how they have “become a big part of Marcus Freeman’s production.”

“Man, I’ll tell you what,” said Marcus with laughter. “I’m trying to stay away from that as much as I can, you know what I mean? There’s no good answer for this question. I’ll tell you what, I have to try to keep my wife happy. That’s it. I’m trying to keep my wife happy.”
