Brooke Shields always keeping it real when it comes to getting old.

Shields, 59, spoke about getting older in the public eye while making an appearance on it Good Morning America on Monday, January 13, while promoting her memoir, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Age: Thoughts on Aging as a Womanwhich fell on Tuesday, January 14.

“It’s important to understand where you’ve been, but I think it’s really nice to say, ‘I may not know where I’m going, but I’m here,'” said Shields. “I want to look my best, and I want to be healthy,” added the actresses.

While Shields admits she wishes “things were a little higher and tighter,” she still feels like she’s “earned everything I have on my face.”

“It’s important to get off your back and say, ‘What do you want to do now?’ You’re no longer tied to biology in the same way,” Shields explained.

This is hardly the first time Shields has been candid about ageing. Earlier this month, Shields only exposed to Us Weekly about the changing views on aging in a modern world.

“Yes, (aging) has its downsides, but (women) aren’t chasing something anymore: you have to have babies by this age, you have to get married, you have to finish college,” she told Us. “There are so many decades where we’re just trying to get to the next step. And then there’s a shift.”

Shields continued, adding that getting older has made her feel “more ambitious” in him push boundaries in life.

“I feel like I deserve it more. I’m still afraid. I keep getting nervous I’m not good enough. I still have to force myself to push through, (but) we are becoming unignorable,” the Pretty baby said a star. “We’re pretty formidable, and I think that’s a little scary for everybody.”
