Crystal Palace produced a secured performance when they picked up their first victory in the season’s premier League with a convincing 3-0 victory over a misfortune Villa Aston at Villa Park.
Jean-Philippe Mateta set the palace on his way with a 20-minute penalty before the goals of the second half of Marc Guehi and Ismaila Sarr won the victory for Oliver Glasner.
In the meantime, Villa hoped to take revenge on the FA Cup Cup semifinals last season, but it turned out to be a repetition of April afternoon in Wembley when the West Midlanders fell into the first loss of the league at home in 19 games.
The result combines what has been a miserable start of the new campaign for Unai Emery.
They still expect a first victory of the season and still have to find the network in any of their three accessories.
Villa saw the lion’s possession quota in the initial exchanges, but it was the palace that removed the first blood for 20 minutes when Daichi Kamada was demolished by the goalkeeper of Villa Marco Bizot in La Caixa.
Referee Stuart Attwell granted the point of view, which Mateta properly sent to give the Oliver Glasner team the early advantage and move the French to 49 goals for the London club.
Suddenly Palace seemed to be the controlled team. Captain Guehi may go to Liverpool in the coming days, but the engaged character in International England showed little sign of wearing -as he helped maintain the rear door of Palace.
Villa’s theme, despite the future of goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who dominates his transfer activity this summer, seems to be at the opposite end of the pitch.
Entering the party, the men of Unai Emery were the only side of the Premier League still to find the back of the network this term, and it seemed that this unwanted label would continue when Dean Henderson denied Ollie Watkins from close.
Glasner received a strong blow shortly after the restart when the influential midfielder Adam Wharton, who was called to Thomas Tuchel’s England’s staff last week, took 55 minutes.
In the meantime, Villa appeared a little rejuvenated in the second half. But yet, the required final touch continued to circumvent them.
And it would cost them. In the 69th minute, the visitors expanded the lead when Guehi was on the upper end of the pitch and stormed a wonderful strike on the upper corner.
Few separation gifts, if it really proves to be this for Guehi, they will be so impressive.
Watkins and Donyell Malen, then, both narrow for Villa, as they desperately tried to push themselves again.
But things would soon be worse for the hosts. Jefferson Lerma’s long launch was launched in Cap de Sarr, who courageously nodged to the posterior place for the third of the palace.
He passed an Astute Away performance from the FA Cup winners. While for the town, its difficult start to the season seems more and more dangerous.
