Travis Kelce shares an update on his film debut Happy Gilmore 2.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 35, said on the Monday, January 13, episode of ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show that he has “a few scenes” in the future Adam Sandler comedy and that filming is a “big load” of work.
“That’s a dream come true. I thought SNL which was going to be the highlight of my acting and showman or entertainment career. Working with Happy Gilmore himself, the Sandman and Happy Productions, it was off the chain,” he added, per Variety.
Kelce shared that operating alongside Sandler was not unlike working with the Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
“They are so professional and yet so fun to work with. I felt like I was working with like the Andy Reid of the acting world,” he said. “(Sandler) is just as cool off screen as he is on screen. That was a dream come true. That was great.”

NetflixAddressing a theory that he could appear in the film, Travis said: “Man, I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2.”
Travis added that he was a “huge Sandman fan” and would jump at the chance to appear in a film with Sandler, but ultimately said it was all a “conspiracy theory.”
“I’ll feel extra… anything to go around Happy Gilmorean Adam Sandler movie or set – count me in,” he added. “I will do anything in the film. I’ll be a part of it any way I can.”
A few months later, in August 2024, Sandler confirm that Travis would make an appearance in the film.
“Travis has … talked about it, so we have something nice for Travis,” Sandler, 58, said on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
Actor Travis gushed, adding, “He’s a really nice guy. You guys would love it in real life. That’s a big, handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell. He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”
