Hurzeler confirms that Baleba will stay in Brighton despite the interest of Manchester United

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler insists that he has no doubt that Carlos Baleba will remain in the club this season, despite the interest of Manchester United.

The United had asked about the 21 -year -old young man earlier this month, but he supported himself once it was clear that Brighton was not ready to consider a sale.

Baleba, who joined Lille in 2023, has already played in the two games of the Premier League for Opening of Seagulls and has made 80 appearances since his arrival on the southern coast.

When pressing on whether the Cameroon International would still be a Brighton player beyond the Monday transfer period, even if a major offer occurred, Hurzeler gave a definitive response: “Yes.”

He then added: “If there is a number of more than 100 (%), I would say more than 100, so fantastically confident.”

Brighton has been occupied in the transfer market this summer, contributing six new players to strengthen Hurzeler’s squad. The arrivals include Maximer Defenders of Cuyper of Club Brugge, Olivier Boscagli of PSV Eindhoven and Diego Coppola de Hellas Verona, while the midfielder Tom Watson has joined from Sunderland.

They have also added Winger Yoon Do-Young of Daejeon Hana Citizen and the striker Charalampos Kostoulas de Olympiakos in an agreement worth 29.8 million £.

However, Hurzeler does not expect any more business before the window is closed. Asked if I believed that Brighton was in the market, he replied: “I have a feeling. Sometimes it is not so smart to share the feelings you have with the audience, but in general I am very happy with the workforce.”
