Ravichandran Ashwin retires from the Indian Premier League (IPL)

Old Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has officially called the weather to his Premier League India (IPL) Career. The 37 -year -old young man went to social media to share an emotional message, confirming that, while his IPL trip is over, he is excited to start a new chapter playing different leagues around the world.

In his tweet, Ashwin reflected on the trip that began in 2009 and thanked all the franchisees he represented over the years, along with the IPL and the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI).

He also expressed his thanks to the fans, teams and officials who were part of his 15 -year -old IPL, highlighting the memories and friendships he made during the tournament.

“They say that every end will have a new beginning, my time as a cricket IPL ends today, but my time as a game explorer around several leagues begins today. I would like to thank all the franchisees all the wonderful memories and relationships over the years and the most important of @ipl and @BCCI for what I have been given so far. We look forward to enjoying and doing what is in front of me.” wrote Ashwin to X (before Twitter).

An IPL’s brilliant career

Ashwin, who debuted with IPL with Chennai Super Kings (CSK)It became one of the most successful spinners in the history of the league. Known for its variations and tactical sharpness, played key papers for CSK, Rising Pune Supergiants, Kings XI Punjab (Now Punjab Kings), Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals. Interestingly, he returned to CSK at the IPL 2025 auction.

In his IPL career, Ashwin appeared in 220 games, choosing 187 doctors, while contributing to the bat in crucial situations. He was part of the CSK title winning teams in 2010 and 2011, and then captured PUNJAB in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
