The victim of sexual abuse of children asked Elon Musk to stop the links, offering images that were posted on his social media platform.

“Listening that my abuse – and abuse of many others – is still distributed and commercially, is annoyed,” says “Dawns” (not her real name), who lives in the US and abused more than 20 years ago.

“Whenever someone sells or shares the materials of brutal children, they directly feed the original, horrific abuses.”

X says he has a “zero tolerance for sexual abuse materials,” and the fight against those who exploit children remains a “top priority”.

The BBC found Zora images by investigating global trading material for children, it is estimated that billions of dollars from children’s light, the World Children’s Security Institute costs.

The material was among the cache of thousands of similar photographs and videos offering on sale on the account X. We came into contact with the trader via Telegram App with messaging, and this led us to a bank account related to Jakarta, Indonesia.

Zor for the first time abused family members. The collection of images of her abuse became shameful among pedophiles who collect and trade such content. Many other victims are confronted with the same situation, as the abuse images continue to spread today.

The dawn is angry that trade continues to this day.

“My body is not a commodity. It has never been and will never be,” she says.

“Those who distribute this material are not passive random cases, they are complicit criminals.”

Drawing images were initially available only in the so -called dark web, but it must live with reality that the links are openly moving on X.

Social media platforms are trying to rid their platforms from illegal material, but the scale of the problem is huge.

Last year, the National Center for missing and exploited children (NCMEC) received more than 20 million compulsory reports from technology companies on children’s sexual violence (CSAM) – illegal images and videos on its platforms.

NCMEC tries to determine the victims and criminals, then the organization appeals to law enforcement agencies.

We turned to the “Hacktivist” group Anonymous, whose members are trying to fight the trading of children’s cruelty on X. One of them told us that the situation was as bad as never.

They threw us up about one account on X. As an avatar, he used a photo of the head and shoulders of a real child. Nothing is obscene in this.

But the words and emoji in the biography of the account made it clear that the owner sold the material for sexual abuse, and the Telegram App Telegram had a link to the account.

The trader seemed to be founded in Indonesia and offered “VIP -packages”, drawings and video files for the sale of pedophiles around the world.

An anonymous activist was working to report several accounts of this trader on X to be removed by platform moderation systems. But every time one account was deleted, he told us that another replaced it.

The trader seems to oversee more than 100 almost identical accounts. The activist told us that when he appealed to the trader directly with the help of Telegram, the trader replied that he had thousands of videos and images for sale.

“I have a baby. Children are young 7-12,” he wrote in reports an activist who saw the BBC. He also explained that some content showed the rape of the child.

We’ve been in touch with the trader.

He submitted links to material samples that we did not open or considered. Instead, we turned to experts from the Canadian Children Protection Center (CCCP) in Winnipeg, working with law enforcement and legally allow you to view such content.

“The Telegram account was, for the lack of better term, the tasting package – in fact, the collage of the material, which it had from all different victims,” ​​explained Lloid Richardson, director of CCCP technology. “If we looked all the different images in the collage, I would say there were thousands.”

Among the files were zora images.

Her rapist in the US was held accountable and imprisoned many years ago, but not earlier than the abuse staff had already shared and sold around the world.

Zora told us, “I have tried to overcome my past for years and will not allow it to determine my future, but criminals and stalkers still find a way to view this dirt.”

When she matured, the stalkers discovered Zora’s identity, addressing and threatening her on the Internet. He says he feels “a mockery of a crime that robbed me from my childhood.”

To identify the trader selling the dawn photos, we put the buyer.

The trader sent us information about his banking information and an online account, both had the same name as the account owner.

An anonymous activist found that the name was also related to two money and other bank account.

We found a person with the same name as in the accounts listed, at the outskirts of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta.

The producer, who works in the city for the BBC World Service, went to visit the address and collided with a person on the premises who, when provided evidence, said he was shocked.

“I don’t know anything about it,” he said.

The man confirmed that one of the bank accounts was and stated that it was created for a single mortgage. He said he has not used an account since then and that he would contact his bank to find out what happened. He denied knowledge of another bank account or remittance.

We cannot know for sure when and to what extent it can participate, and as a result we do not call it.

Our investigation has revealed that dawn images are a method used by hundreds of traders around the world.

Posts on X use different hashtags familiar with pedophiles. Images that appear on the platform often take from the famous images of the cruelty of children, but they can be trimmed so that they are not obscene.

Elon Musk said that the removal of sexual abuse material was his “main priority” when he took over X, which was then called Twitter, in 2022.

Social media platforms as a whole, not just X, can do much more to prevent criminals who have repeatedly placed, says Lloid Richardson with CCCP.

“It is great that we can send a message on the social media platform) and they delete the account, but that’s a minimum.”

The problem is that users can return to the platform a few days with a new account, he says.

X told us it was a “zero tolerance” for children’s sexual exploitation. “We are constantly investing in extended detection so that we can take rapid action against the content and accounts that violate our rules,” the press secretary said.

The platform told us that it “works closely with the National Center for the missing and exploited children (NCMEC) and supports the efforts of law enforcement agencies to prosecute these horrific crimes.”

The telegram said: “All channels are modeled, and more than 565,000 groups and channels related to CSAM were banned so far in 2025.”

The platform stated that more than a thousand moderators were working on this issue.

“Telegram actively monitors public content across the platform and removes unwanted material before it can get to users or report,” the press secretary said.

When we told the dawn that her photos were traded with X, she received this message for the owner of the platform Elon Musk: “Our abuses are shared, traded and sold in the app that you own. If you act without hesitation to protect your own children, I ask you to do the same for the rest of us.”
