Why Osley Iglesias could be the true threat to Canelo, despite the focus of Turki Alralhikh in Hamzah Sheeraz and Chris Eubank Jr.

The IBO Super Middleweight champion, Osley Iglesias, hopes to challenge the winner of Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford if he is victorious in his 168 pound IBF titles eliminator against Vladimir Shishkin number 2 in Montreal de Montreal, Canada.

The other Turki plans

Iglesias has not been mentioned as a potential option for Canelo to fight in early 2026. Instead, Saudi boxing promoter, Turki Alralikh, said that Hamzah Sheeraz “deserves” to fight Alvarez after his victory over Edgar Berlanga on July 12.

Turki also mentioned the winner of the November 15 resale between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn as the possibility of fighting Canelo. Osley Iglesias has the fist power and the fond pedigree of his long career in Cuba to fight Canelo.

In the amateur ranks, Iglesias won David MorrellCuban Olympic Gold Medalist twice Arlen Lopezand 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Gleb Bakshi.

The old Cuban Amateur Star, Iglesias (13-0, 12 kos) is located in place 3 with the IBF after six years in the professional ranks. Osley, 27, is a powerful ko punch at two hand. It is not yet known as other super media weights because fights have not been shown as often in the United States as other more notable fighters of 168 pounds.

Iglesias is looking for Canelo

“We leave there to fight, we hope it will come to fight, but if I see it irritating (fighting defensively), then I will eat it alive,” said Osley Iglesias to Boxingnewsonline about his deletion of the Belt Super Middleweight September 4th of September.

“It will be a great struggle; none of my fights is boring,” Iglesias said. “If Canelo/Crawford is the opportunity after this struggle, I will welcome -I will go ahead, but I am not focused on it. If they give me the opportunity, I will be ready and I hope they do it.”
