Defense Minister Pitt Hugset fired the head of the Pentagon intelligence agency, only a few weeks after the White House reports the report, the influence of US strikes on Iran, the US media report.
Lieutenant General Jefferry Cruz will no longer fulfill the duties of the head of the US Defense Agency (DIA), it is said that reports. The Pentagon was also supplanted by two more military commanders.
The Defense Department did not propose any direct explanations for shooting.
In June, President Donald Trump pushed back The Dia report, which showed that the attacks on Iran, had only returned their nuclear program for months. The White House announced an assessment of the agency “evenly”.
Trump announced nuclear monuments in Iran “completely destroyed” and accused the media of “trying to humiliate one of the most successful military strikes in history.”
Speaking at the NATO summit at the time, Hegset stated that the report was made on “low intelligence” and that the FBI had leaked.
Cruz’s exit first reported the Washington Post. BBC contacted the Pentagon for comments.
DIA is part of the Pentagon and specializes in military exploration to support operations. It collects a large amount of technical intelligence, but is different from other agencies such as the CIA.
It is clear that Hegset also ordered the removal of the US military reserves and commander of the Military Special War commander, an anonymous source said on Friday.
In his statement, US Senator Mark Warner warned that Cruz’s dismissal was a sign that Trump had “a dangerous habit of viewing intelligence as a loyalty test rather than protecting our country.”
Trump has removed a number of officials whose analysis was allegedly disagreed with the president.
In July, Trump said he had ordered his team to abandon Eric Commissioner Eric Macherfer “Immediately” after the report showed that job growth was slowing down.
And in April, Trump fired General Timothy Hau as director of the National Security Agency, as well as more than a dozen staff of the White House National Security Council.
Hegset also pushed a number of military officials in the Pentagon. In February, he fired General CQ Brown, who was fired with five other admirals and generals.
