Harry Kane scored another hat-trick to help Bayern Munich send a “statement” to the rest of the Bundesliga with a crushing victory over RB Leipzig tonight.
Kane’s Treble came in 13 minutes in the second half, while Vincent Kompany’s men opened the defense of their domestic crown very impressive.
A survey this week revealed that the 17 Bundesliga coaches believed that Bayern would win the title and, in this evidence, could be a long season for the other clubs, even contemplating the Bavarian rule.
Kane said, “We wanted to send a statement from the first game at home and this is what we did today. We acted at a very high level and we were efficient. We won 6-0 so we cannot complain. After half the time we were 3-0, I told myself that I need to enter the score sheet.”
It was a night to forget the new Leipzig’s head, Ole Werner, of which he was left out with contempt.
The visitors were held for the first 27 minutes before the Bayern finally clicked with Michael Olise by sending a powerful strike to the end.
It was 2-0 five minutes later when Serge Gnabry chose Luis Diaz and the former Liverpool striker scored his first Bundesliga goal with an end that entered the bottom of the cross bar.
Gnabry then won Olise for his second, as Bayern reached the half of the three goals for good.
Kane took center stage.
The captain of England marked the first after cutting -inside his marker before shooting in front of Peter Gulacsi. His second came shortly after Leipzig had a shameless goal out of play, the Old Hero of Tottenham, whipping a shot from the edge of La Caixa.
And he completed his hat-trick, his eighth for Bayern, who went home after Leipzig could not prevent Kim Min-Jae in the center of half of carrying the ball for 50 meters before putting it in Kane.
Despite the resounding victory, Kompany refused to leave.
Asked if it was the perfect performance on his side, the Belgian said: “No, I only told the dressing room players that there were three things that we can do better, but I will keep it for the dressing room.
“We showed energy and joy on the pitch. It was a very good first game in Allianz Arena. The base was there, but it is only a game. Not six points, only three. There were many topics before the game, but we gave the answer to the pitch. We move on.”
