ABC has just offered first sight at season 2 of High potential – and some of us have got our eye on a new -coming Steve HoweyScenes with Kaitlin Olson.
The network released a lanes on Wednesday, August 20, Showing the character of Howey, Nickreaching out to shake Morgan (Olson) at the Center. It has previously been revealed that Howey will star on season 2 as “a keen political animal that knows how to wear an expensive suit and flows an effortless charm.”
According to the official character description, Nick is “a guy who can launch a million fundraisers with his smile” and “has a disturbor’s tutor of thinking outside the box” like Morgan. “He has a way of putting himself right in the middle of the action … whether he wants there or not,” the description continues.
Along with Olson, Howey, 48, joins Costars Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes.

High potentialWill return this fall, following Morgan’s mother-of-three who joins the LAPD to help solve murders with his high IQ. She is paired with detective Karadec (Sunjata), which is initially skeptical about how Morgan can assist the big crime unit but ultimately start to rely on it.
Only a few chapters took to fans to notice how the dynamics of Karadec and Morgan remind them of others Slow burning couples on procedural shows.
“I’ll definitely say I don’t have the pretty real answer to where they’re going to go. In terms of the will-won’t-they-they between Karadec and Morgan, that’s up to our authors’ room,” Sunjata, 53, was told only Weekly US In November 2024. “I think they are going to play the long game with that particular story line.”
Sunjata did not rule out Karadec and Morgan a platonic remaining for the time being – or even for good.
“Honestly, if we had, like, five seasons, Karadec and Morgan could remain very good friends with a joint professional respect that cares for each other deeply and perhaps flirting with the idea of some kind of romantic interaction,” he noted. “But if that never happened, that would be a very cool way to take it too.”
At the time, Sunjata made it clear that the writers were the fate of the pair. “I would say that there is definitely some electricity between the two. There is a dissatisfied mutual attraction that is happening,” he added. “But I don’t think we should expect to see anything crazy about that happening anytime soon.”

Season 2 will continue to invest in Morgan and Karadec – regardless of whether there is a romantic adoption.
“We’re going to write that for a while. Even if you’re at some point falling in love with someone, you may also be more in love with the partnership and friendship. And you may be scared enough of the risk of crossing some lines,” Harthan suggested. “For me, it’s so fun playing in that space before you cross certain lines. There’s a lot of life in this show and I want to make sure we do it at a speed that doesn’t leave a good story on the table.”
High potential Returns to ABC on Tuesday, September 16, at 10 pm ET before streaming the next day on Hulu.
