Children’s gorilla, rescued last year from the shipping plane at Istanbul Airport, may soon be returned to his native Nigeria.
Children’s – nicknamed Zaitin in the public competition – at the Polonezkoy Zoo looked after when he survived rehabilitation after testing. Zaitin gained weight and grew higher since he was found in December.
Turkish authorities are looking for assurances in Nigeria that Zaytin does not threaten the danger from illegal traders when he returns to the country.
