Weeks Russia launches the biggest wave of strikes in Ukraine

Russia is said to have launched 574 drones and 40 missiles in Ukraine in one of the most difficult bombing in a few weeks, Ukrainian officials say.

One person was killed in an unmanned and missile strike in the western city of Lviv, and 15 people were injured in an attack on the Southwestern Region of Transcorts.

The attacks occurred when US President Donald Trump thought diplomatic steps to stop the war, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrei Sibikh stated that the strikes emphasized why the efforts to finish were “so critical”.

President Valodimir Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to meet with Russian Vladimir Putin “in neutral Europe” – in Switzerland or Austria – and he also did not mind Istanbul.

Zelensky declared his willingness to meet Putin in “any format”, although he poured cold water to the idea of meeting him in Budapest, which, he said, is “not just” today.

The prospect of direct negotiations appeared after Trump met with Putin in Alaska, and then held Zelensky and European leaders on Monday.

The US president initially proposed a tripartite negotiations with his participation, Putin and Zelensky, but has since suggested that he could not participate: “Now I think it would be better if they met without me … If necessary, I will go.”

The Ukrainian Air Force counted 614 drones and other missiles that were fired by Russia over the night on Thursday and stated that 577 of them had stopped. This is the biggest air attack since July.

While Russian strikes are usually focused on the eastern regions close to the front, and the latest attacks have also taken to Western areas. The Foreign Minister said the weapon used hypersonic, ballistic and cruise missiles.

Ukrainian Air Force stated that many attacks occurred from Western Russia, as well as from the Black Sea and one rocket from Russian Crimea.

In Lviv, where one person was killed, three more were injured in attacks that damaged more than 20 civilian buildings, including houses and a kennel.

Another 15 people were injured when the cruise missiles hit the US Electronics Firm in the Far Southwestern city of Mukchev in Transcarpatonia, not far from Ukraine’s borders with Hungary and Slovak.

“One of the missiles hit a large American electronics manufacturer in our western region, which led to serious damage and victims,” Sibikh wrote on Thursday. The plant produces coffee machines and other household goods, officials say.

Talking to journalists on Thursday, Zelensky stated that in Moscow there was still no signal that they “really intend to participate in significant negotiations” to stop the war.

He also made it clear his lack of enthusiasm in Budapest as a master for potential talks on Thursday, citing the strong ties of Prime Minister Victor Orban with Moscow: “I am not saying that Orban’s policy against Ukraine, but it was against Ukraine’s support.”

In recent days, the idea of the Hungarian capital as a potential place for peace talks, and the Hungary Foreign Minister Peter Shidzart said that Budapest was ready to provide “properly fair and safe conditions”.

The Ukrainian leader also said that Russian forces are massively applied to the southern front line in the Zaparetsia region, one of the four regions of Ukraine, which Russia now claims its own.

“We see that they continue to transfer part of their troops from the Kursk direction in Zaparitzhzh.”
