Bakhram Murtazaliev, champion of the IBF Junior of Half Weight and Josh Kelly, has been ordered by the sanctioning body to begin negotiations with a period of September 19 before an order is ordered.
Kelly (17-1-1, 9 kos) went through an offer to face Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis in favor of fighting Murtazaliev for his belt IBF. It is a hard struggle for the 2016 Olympin, Kelly, to challenge Murtazaliev because it is not a punch of power.
The 32 -year -old Bakhram, born in Russia, has been alone for the big names, Sebastian Fundora and Terence Crawford since he won a third -round victory of his career on Tim Tszyu last year on October 19. None of the big fights has reached the path of Murtazaliev since then.
Kelly was stopped on the sixth round by David Avanayan four years ago in Welterweight on February 20, 2021. He has won his last seven fights since then, but not against any punch. Murtazaliev is on another level that Avanayan Power-Wise and the most dangerous with either hands.
As Murtazaliev showed in his last fight, out of Tszyu, he can hurt his opponents using his left hand. Murtazaliev had injured his elementary weapon, his right hand, in the training camp, and was forced to trust his left for Tszyu’s struggle.
Boxing insider, Fernando SabatinI, I broke the news of the IBF, ordering the negotiations of Murtazaliev vs. Kelly to start.
Kelly, 31, shows a lot of courage by choosing this struggle with Murtazaliev instead of waiting for a title shot against Wbo Junior Middleweight, Xander Zayas. This is a struggle that Kelly could have a better chance of winning because Zayas, 22, is not a punch. He is a pure boxer that moves and maintains a lot.
The IBF recently ordered the number 1 mandatory Erickson Lubin and Murtazaliev (23-0, 17 kos) on July 21. Lubin decided not to take the fight and go in the direction of an attack against the temporary champion of 154 pounds of WBC, Vergil Ortiz Jr.
