Anthony Richardson and others respond to team quarterback decision

Indianapolis Colts, Quarterback and ex -NoMero four overall selection Anthony Richardson told journalists that he must “respect the decision” The team named Daniel Jones the initial week, according to NFL.com. However, this was not the messaging that came from Richardson’s agent, Deairic Jackson, who said confidence between the Colts and his client is “questionable” According to ESPN.

“Trust is an important factor and, at best, is questionable right now,” said Jackson. “Anthony returned and made the improvements in the areas he needed to improve. And of course he had a great camp.”

Jackson was not the only person who sounded about the last quarterback change in Indy. Quenton Nelson also made his feelings heard.

“I would say that,” Nelson said when he asked if it is frustrating that the team continues to bring new headlines to the quarterback. “I think I would lie if he said he wasn’t.”

When Daniel Jones opens the regular 2025-26 season as the holder of Colts, he will be the twelfth different quarterback that Nelson will have blocked since he was drafted in 2018.

“Look around the league and see the consistency of having Patrick Mahomes or a behind-birderback who has been the franchise player for years and years and years, and to get chemistry with that quarterback year after year to be something that is an advantage when it comes to playing O-Line,” he continued. “So, to answer your question, yes.”

The blocking of a new quarterback is something that is used by Quenton Nelson. He clarified that he hoped that the competition for the team’s initial work to be fierce when Daniel Jones joined the Colts in March.

“Since we signed Daniel, we knew this would be a great decision for Shane (Steichen) and the front office to do.” Said Nelson. “And nothing really changes for us. We will still come to work, we do our job (and) still support the two boys. But it’s nothing completely new for us.”

In the meantime, Anthony Richardson has dealt with this decision with maturity, saying that there is no “hard feelings” between him and the Colts.

“They feel that it is the best suitable for the team, the better the result of winning. So you just have to respect -and continue to work,” said Richardson. “This does not hurt any other job I have been doing. It does not say that I have not improved. I am proud of the improvement I have done.”

Again, this was not the feeling that echoed Richardson’s agent. When he was asked what his next conversation will be with the Colts, Deiric Jackson said to Espn, “We have a lot to say.”

Indianapolis Colts open the regular season against the Miami Dolphins on September 7. The launch for this game is scheduled for 13:00 EDT.
