A politician in Finland was killed in the main building of the country’s parliament in the Helsinki capital.

It is believed that Emeli Palton, who was a Social Democratic Party deputy, took his life in the building and was found on Tuesday morning, local media reported.

His sudden death shocked Finland when politicians express their sadness on all sides.

“He was a very beloved member of our community, and we will miss him deeply. Young life is over too early,” said Tytti Tuppurain, chairman of the Parliamentary Social Democratic Group.

Despite the fact that the parliament is in the summer break, the Prime Minister Peter Orpa was dismissed from all official political works.

Orpa spent a moment of silence in honor of Peltonan, who, he said, very much liked his colleagues, the Yle broadcaster reports.

This was shared by the Parliamentary Speaker of Jusi Hallo-Aha, who wrote on X that Pelton was “a well-liked colleague who was respected on the party.”

On Tuesday at 11:06 (08:06 GMT) police were summoned – at 11:06 (08:06 GMT). They said that no obscene game was suspected.

Pelteno’s death was confirmed approximately three hours later in a short parliamentary statement, which states that the community was shared into the “grief of his relatives”.

Palten, represented by the southern region of Uusimaa, was the first term as a parliamentary deputy, was elected in 2023.

His political ambitions began early – Peltton was elected by the city council in Jarvenpao only 18 years old.

When he was 22 years old, he was elected chairman of the city council – the younger man who held the title, Media reported at the time.

At the end of June, Palten posted in his social media accounts that he had been “away from numerous parliamentary works” in recent weeks because he had a “kidney problem” that led to the infection.

In the report, he explained that he was treated with an “intravenous antibiotic in Melyakhti (Helsinki suburbs), which was taking his time.”

“I have already been discharged from the hospital, but from the situation I am in the summer hospital, and I focused on recovery after illness,” he wrote.
