According to recent reports, Suryakumar Yadav’s site as Captain T20i of India is threatened with the appearance of Shubman Gill, and could be sacked sooner than late.

Shubman Gill was not the first choice but will be considered as the next pattern of India T20i
According to a report from The Indian Express, selectors BCCI and Gautam Gambhir are interested in Nuvis in Shubman Gill as the next Captain T20i because Suryakumar Yadav will turn 35 next month.
Discussions on this topic took place during the Asia Cup selection meeting and “consumed most of the time” before Gill was identified as the “most eligible candidate”.
“It was the question that he consumed most of his time at the Tuesday’s selection meeting, and the main coach Gautam Gambhir, who joined online, also said that India needed the preparation of someone for the future and Gill, who turned 26 next month, was the most eligible candidate,” the report read.

According to the same report, All-Rounder Axar Patel, who was the Vice-Capitan of India in the England T20i series, was considered as a possible option of Captaincy and Gill was not the first option.
However, the selectors won Shubman Gill because they needed someone who could serve the Indian cricket for a long time and there was no better candidate than Gill.

Another PTI report stated that the BCCI has sent a clear message to Suryakumar Yadav with Gill’s appointment as vice-chic who needs to increase his game.

Obviously we see some leadership qualities in him, and his form in England was what we expected,” added the former India.
