The ex -Indian Pacific Karsan Ghavri has opened to the rare side of Sunil Gavaskar that the Cricket world almost does not listen. Ghavri recalled how Sunil Gavaskar could double situations in his will, sometimes even going against the flow of the Indian Cricket team.
In the 1970’s, the Indian cricket sought an identity on the world stage, and it was when Gavaskar appeared as the daring face. The little teacher was short of stature, but he had courage, and he carried the hopes of the team every time he went out.
He faced Farsome Fast Bolters of the West Indies, Australia and England without a helmet and became a symbol of courage. Ghavri recently recalled one of the most famous and controversial moments of his 1975 World Cup career.
Your daily dose of cricket!
In India’s initial game against England, the former Indian Captain shocked everyone by playing an unusually slow entry, marking only 36 runs of 174 balls in a game of 60 more. The fans were frustrated, teammates were bewildered, and critics could not stop hitting the young baptism.
But Gavaskar was never explained, as it was not about entertaining the crowd, but it was to join his method, as his former teammate mentioned. However, the legendary mayor went on record after the record, becoming the first player to mark 10,000 test tests.
Karsan Ghavri told Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel: “ We, as Indian cricketers, did not know how to play a day’s cricket. In the first game, England scored 334, but when we arrived at Bat, Sunil played the 60 points in this game. They so many times, the messages were condemned, asking him to accelerate or out, trying to pick up.
But Sunil Gavaskar was Sunil Gavaskar in the 70’s. I would not listen to anyone. He has just played Tony Grieg, Geoff Arnold, Chris Old and Bob Willis. The reason he gave after the game was: “I faced these boys, practicing against them for the proof matches in the future.” There was a crisis in the dressing room. When our manager asked him, Gavaskar said, “Leave -me in peace.”

Ghavri also recalled a famous incident when Gavaskar refused to meet the Indian Prime Minister Mererji Desai during a test game against Australia at Feroz Shah Kotla de Delhi. That day, India began to beat first, and Gavaskar was already padded in the locker room.
At that time, the former Prime Minister arrived at the stadium to meet with both teams. Since Morarji Desai arrived a little late, the presentations have been organized after the launch, just as Gavaskar was preparing to leave and open the tickets for India and concentrated.
Ghavri recalled, “Everyone came out, but Sunil said,” I don’t come. “He said,” Let me focus on. They left him alone. “
Gavaskar stayed again in the locker room, as he was not willing to break his concentration even for a few minutes that could affect his baptism. Later, the former Prime Minister had come especially to the Indian locker room to find Gavaskar.
Ghavri added: “Sunil beat to the tea and also marked some runs. At the end of the day, we did not know that the Prime Minister had come to the locker room just to find -Gavaskar. This is how Sunil Gavaskar, first, from 1971 to 1987, was always a champion. He could go out with the murder.”
