The former National Cricket Equip of India operating Batsman and the BCCI selector Kris Srikkanth has supported the 14-year-old sense of Batalles Vaibhavanshi to snatch the Sanju Samson 2025 Asia Cup.
Kris Srikkanth said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi should open tickets with Abhishek Sharma in the Asia Cup 2025, with Sanju Samson who was attracted to the XI game.

Samson and Abhishek have received good support from the team leadership led by Gautam Gambhir to play their natural game without worrying about their place on the team.

Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma have also received support from the former cricketers and experts to continue as openers in the Asia Cup 2025 in spite of Shubman Gill and Yasasvi Jaiswal waiting in the wings. However, an old Indian Cricpeter (Kris Srikkanth) wants a change in the opening couple.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel ‘Cheeky Cheeka’, Kris Srikkanth emphasized how Sanju Samson fought against the T20i’s short balls of the T20i series against England and said he had to be abandoned from the team.
He added that Vaibhav Suryavanshi or Sai Sudharsan would have to replace Sanju Samson in performance XI and opened with Abhishek Sharma. The 1983 World Cup winner praised Vaibhav Suryavanshi for his wonderful debut at IPL 2025 and supported him to play in the T20 World Cup of the 2026 ICC. He said:
“Sanju Samson was eager for the short ball against England. According to me, it is doubtful that it will open. If I were a coach, Abhishek Sharma would be my choice number 1. No. 2 would go to Vaibhavavanshi or Sai Sudharsan.”
“I would also have Vaibhav Suryavanshi on my 15 -member T20 World Cup squad. He is playing brilliantly.”

Srikkanth also launched the name Yasasvi Jaiswal next to Sai Sudharsan and Vaibhavavanshi to associate Abhishek Sharma at the top and stated that Sanju Samson or Jitesh Sharma can interpret a Wicketkeeper-Batsman.
He also requested the return of Shreyas Iyer to the T20i configuration after his stellar 2025 and named him as a certainty with Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya.
“Sai Sudharsan is the orange lid headline. It has been very good and Yassewal Jaiswal also. Therefore, one from Sudharsan, Suryavanshi or Jaiswal should open with Abhishek. This would be my choice. This is a very competitive world. The choice can be between Samson and Jitesh Sharma as Keeper-Baterter. I will also carry Shreyas. Shreyas.
