US President Donald Trump will be held on Monday by Lodz Zelensky for the first meeting from the moment of heating the couple at the White House earlier this year – but this time the President of Ukraine brings European allies.
NATO Secretary General Mark Ruthte and UK Prime Minister Sir Kire Starmer – among the leaders who will join Zelensky in Washington for negotiations on how to end the war with Russia.
From here, a Trump summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, which resulted in the US president, refused to cease fire and calling instead of a constant peaceful deal.
The US messenger said on Sunday that Putin had agreed with a possible NATO security pact for Ukraine.
“Great progress in Russia. Keep track of the news!” Trump posted on his true social platform without specifying.
They are also sent to Washington for a meeting on Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, German Chancellor Friedrich Mertz, President of Finnish Alexander Stub and President of the European Commission Ursul von der Leyen. It is unclear how many of them go to the White House.
For such a number of state rulers, to travel with such a small notice through the Atlantic to the fact that it is essentially a crisis assembly of wartime without precedents in the modern era, emphasizing high stakes.
Diplomatic sources say European officials are concerned that Trump may try to press Zelensky to agree to the conditions after the Ukrainian leader was expelled from Trump-Purven’s meeting last Friday.
But US Secretary of State Mark Rubio told the BBC CBS partner that any Zelensky could be backed up by Trump to accept a peaceful deal.
NATO leaders also seek to avoid the fest of February Zelensky’s trip to the oval office, which ended dramatically after the dispute with the Vice President of Trump and the United States.
Smori – in which Trump accused Zelensky of “Gambling Games with the Third World War” – left Washington -Kiev in Tatra.
But since then, European leaders have been working hard behind the scenes to correct the relationship. The Ukrainian leader trained to talk in terms of transactions – a language that resonates with Trump.
In April, Ukraine signed an agreement on minerals, which gave the United States a financial share in the country, and Trump and Zelensky spoke privately in the Vatican before the burial of Pope Francis. Ukraine specified that she was ready to pay for US weapons.
By July, both leaders called which President of Ukraine called “the best conversation we had.”
Meanwhile, Trump began to irritate Russia’s relentless pressure in Ukraine. He called Putin “absolutely crazy”, dramatically reduced his peaceful transaction and threatened economic sanctions in Moscow.
As these reflections turn out, Russian forces continue to move to the battlefield. Now they occupy almost a fifth of Ukraine, because in February 2022 Moscow launched its complete invasion.
On Sunday, between Zelensky and the so -called “willingly” coalition, a group of nations, including the United Kingdom, France and Germany, who have pledged to defend peace in Ukraine when it is reached.
Subsequently, Emanuel Macron told reporters that their plan was to “submit the united front” for talks on Monday with Trump.
Zelensky and NATO leaders said they sought to find out more after the US Messenger Steve Witco told us television that Putin agreed on Friday “reliable security guarantees I would like to call it as a change in games.”
Witcoof said that such an agreement could see Europe and the United States, which defend Ukraine from further aggression through a defense agreement similar to NATO.
“We were able to win the following concession: that the United States could offer an article 5-year protection, which is one of the real reasons why Ukraine wants to be in NATO,” Vitkoff CNN said on Sunday.
Putin has long opposed Ukraine, which has joined NATO, and Vitkof said that an agreement could be an alternative if Ukrainians “can live with it”.
Article 5 is the principle at the heart of a 32-member transatlantic military alliance that says its members will come to the defense of the ally.
Vitkof also said CNN that Russia has made “some concessions” about five strongly challenged regions of Ukraine.
In conversations with European allies, after the Alaska Trump summit, Putin once again confirmed that he wanted key domain regions and Lugansk, which make up Donbass, eastern Ukraine, European officials reported.
But at a virtual summit on Sunday with NATO leaders, Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian Constitution does not give the opportunity to abandon the territory – and that it should be discussed only by the leaders of Ukraine and Russia at a tripartite summit with the United States.
Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State sought to reliably hope that the transaction to end the death conflict in Europe for 80 years could be inevitable.
“We’re still long ways,” Rubio said on Sunday.
