Sydney Thunder batsman Sam Konstas has been the lone warrior for his team in the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 match against the Perth Scorchers. The match between the two teams takes place at the Sydney Showdown Stadium in Sydney.
Sam Konstas, who set the stage on fire during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, has continued his good form with the bat and has been showing his prowess with the bat in the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25 in course team Sydney Thunder.
Sam Konstas, in the ongoing match against the Perth Scorchers, has played a very mature innings and is making sure that he stays there till the end for his team. He has been unfazed by wickets falling at the other end and makes sure he scores quick runs for his team as well.
During the start of his innings, Sam Konstas was also on the receiving end of the nasty knock. On the 3rd ball of the 8th over, Sam Billings advanced down the track against Mahli Beardman. But he went too hard and hit Ashton Turner straight at mid on.
Konstas, at non-forward end, took a few steps forward for a quick single. However, fly-half Ashton Turner came through with the bullet. He missed the stumps but the ball hit the Sydney Thunder batsman in the ribs as he looked on in pain with the impact of the ball.

Sam Konstas hit a solid half-century for the Sydney Thunder in the ongoing match. Although wickets fell at the other end, the batsman was in superb touch and ensured that his team crossed the 100-run mark, which at one point looked impossible.
Sam Konstas finished with an innings of 53 runs off 42 balls. He batted at a strike rate of around 127 and also hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Apart from him and Chris Green, no other batsman crossed the 20-run mark, which speaks volumes for the team’s poor start.
For Perth Scorchers, Cooper Connolly has been one of the performers with the ball. Apart from his economical spell with the ball, he removed Sam Billings and what caught the attention of many was that he brought a unique celebration after taking the wicket.
Connolly shot on the arm and Billings pulled back a bit too much in an attempt to force him offside. The ball skidded and hit the top of the leg stump after pitching. Then he brought up the iconic bow and arrow celebration.
