Liverpool pay tribute to Diogo Jota
The fans retained letters and there was a minute of silence before the release for Jota and Silva, who died in a car accident in July.
Liverpool has withdrawn the 20th T -shirt that Jota took last season and Salah was tears after the final whistle.
“We know this will be a very emotional occasion, as it is the first league game we have played since we lost Diogo and Andre,” wrote director Arne Slot in the notes in his program.
“As I said before, the tributes that have been paid throughout the world of football, and especially within the LFC community, have been really special, and I know that tonight we will meet to pay tribute to them again.
