CPI inflation report on July 2025:

It stems widely from inflation, which accelerates a little less than expected when the tariffs of President Donald Trump showed mostly modest consequences.

The consumer price index increased by seasonally adjusted 0.2% per month and 2.7% on a 12-month basis, reports the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday. This is compared to the relevant Dow Jones estimates by 0.2% and 2.8%.

With the exception of food and energy, the main IPC increased by 0.3% a month and 3.1% compared to the forecasts by 0.3% and 3%. Representatives of the Federal Reserve usually consider the main inflation as the best reading for long -term trends.

Increasing the cost of shelter by 0.2% led to a greater growth of the index, while the food prices were equal and the energy decreased by 1.1%, BLS said. New tariff prices sensitive to tariffs were also unchanged, although used cars and trucks saw 0.5%. Transport and health care services have accommodated 0.8% of the steps above.
