Texas and Penn State are the first AP Top 25 ranking

“This is a new year, new faces, a new team and obviously expectations are high for our program,” Said Longhorns’ main coach Steve Sarkisian. “I am not naive for this. I do not put my head in the sand and expectations are very high. But I also say that we are the University of Texas, and that the rule is the rule here, and this competes for the championships year after year.”

“This team has its own identity,” said Ryan Day, Buckeyes’ lead coach. “He wants to have his own identity, but he also wants to be the first state team of Ohio to win attached national championships.”

One of the biggest games of the season will take place in less than three weeks, when Texas and Ohio State face the Ohio Stadium. Last year, the Buckeyes defeated the Longhorns in the semifinals of the College Playoff 28-14.

The same weekend there will be two other important matches. At 7:30 pm EDT of August 30, Clemson’s number 4 will host #9 LSU. The next day, the number 6 Notre Dame is on the road to the face at number 10 in Miami.

Clemson and Georgia completed the top five. After that, Notre Dame took sixth place, followed by Oregon, Alabama, LSU and Miami. Other prominent programs for cracking the Top 25 of the preseason include Michigan (#14), Florida (#15), Oklahoma (#18), Texas A & M (#19) and Tennessee (#24).
