Josh Duhamel had an epiphany that contributed to his decision to, ultimately, Leave Los Angeles after.
“I make movies and TV shows, and I love, I love,” the Ransom canyon star, 52 People In an interview announced on Sunday, August 10. “But, I got this call to go and do things with my hands again – fix things, do things and do the basics we take for granted.”
He continued, “I’m really more guy who wants to stay true to my roots, return to the basics, sharpen what basic skills I need in this world of huge technology, to do the basics to cater for my family. That’s what I really want.”
The North Dakota native recently built a cabin in Minnesota, telling the outlet that the compound was located “Deep in the Woods” and instead of his family assembled. The actor shares Axl’s son, 11, with ex-wife Fergie and his shepherd son, 19 months, with a wife Airstrais.
“It’s so back to the basics,” he explained to People. “We are so familiar with all these luxuries and these facilities, and I think that is what this is for me. It’s an opportunity to get back to the basics And enjoy the simple things in life a lot, and that’s family, that’s friends, that makes memories. “
Duhamel also enjoys the isolation of his family cabin.

Moving to Minnesota also allowed Duhamel to become “much closer” to his own parents.
“My dad loves to come out there to socialize,” he told Paredcredited his father to choose the acres himself. “We’ve spent more time together in the last five, 10 years than we ever did grow up. I’m much closer to my dad. My mum now loves to come out there. It has become a real central focus for all of us.”
