Kathie Lee Gifford Share a range of emotions in an Instagram poignant post for two very important people in her life.
The first Live! With Regis and Kathie Lee Co-host, 71, acknowledged that Saturday, August 9, was her late husband’s 10th anniversary Frank GiffordDeath in 2015, as well as faster Today cohost Feast61 -year -old birthday.
“Today is a day for rejoicing! First of all, I rejoice for my valuable friend, Hoda Mama, on the occasion of her birthday,” Kathie Lee writing. “She’s one of the most spectacular people I’ve ever known and I worship her and I want all his dreams to come true.”
Kathie Lee then addressed the serious birthday of losing her late husband Frank, who died of natural causes on August 9, 2015. (Kathie Lee and Frank were married for 29 years and shared two children: son Code NewtonBorn in March 1990, and his daughter Cassidy Erin, born in August 1993.)

“The second thing I rejoice about, is that my precious husband, Frank, gone home to Jesus 10 years ago today and has been in peace and has filled with joy and glory since exactly that day. I find comfort in that,” he wrote. “So, I rejoice in the Lord and how he cares for his loved ones, for his children. Bless all of you today. And hope you can find the same kind of shalom in your lives.”
The Gifford family announced shortly after Frank’s death that the former NFL -star had suffered from “the debilitating effects of head trauma,” including chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). Frank played in the NFL for 12 seasons for the New York Giants, and later became a sports analyst on ABC’s Monday night’s football and A wide world of sport.

Ben Hidder/Getty Images“During the last years of his life, Frank dedicated himself to understanding the recent disclosures about the link between repetitive head trauma and his associated cognitive and behavioral symptoms – which he proved directly,” said the family The New York Times in November 2015.
Since Frank’s death, Kathie Lee and her children have become advocates for CTE research. Frank was previously married to college love Maxine Avis Ewart – with whom he shared three children – and a fitness instructor Astrid Lindley Before tying the knot with Kathie Lee in 1986.
Meanwhile, Kathie Lee’s birthday -birthday came to hoda eight months after his friend Longtime and Coworker stopped NBC’s Today. (The duo grabbed the fourth hour of Today For 11 years before Kathie Lee left the show in 2019. Hoda held his final Today demonstrate in January 2025.)
When Weekly US Kathie Lee asked in June whether she would have considered coming back to Today like replacing hodaEmmy’s winner during the day explained: “I’ve been back as a guest often because I always have a new book out or a new movie or something new I’m working on.”
He continued, “I still have great friends there. Many of the crew are still the same. And I’m losing Hoda so, so much. (But I live in Tennessee most of the time now. I’ve had for about seven years already.”
