Shakur Stevenson believes Turki Al-Shiekh can make the mega fight between him and Gervonta Davis happen

Shakur Stevenson believes Turki Al-Shiekh will make the mega fight between himself and Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in 2025 once he meets the Baltimore native. Tank will have a high price for the fight. He already says he wants $150 million to fight Ryan Garcia. He might want a similar amount to fight the uninvolved Stevenson.

Can Al-Shiekh deliver?

Stevenson believes Al-Shiekh will be the one to make it worth Tank (30-0, 28 KOs) wanting to fight him. That decision will make it difficult if Shakur (22-0, 10 KOs) wins his next fight against Floyd Schofield on February 22 in Riyadh next month.

Another poor performance from Stevenson could sink his chances of fighting Davis because the last thing he wants to fight is a runner who isn’t willing to stand up and engage.

Shakur is just trying to score points using his catch-and-run style, assuming the judges will give him the decision. He almost lost to Edwin De Los Santos, and we saw Robeisy Ramirez chase him around the ring in the Olympics and beat him.

“He’s a good person. I’m glad I had the opportunity to meet him. I appreciate the opportunity, and now I get to show who I am,” Shakur Stevenson said Professional boxing fans about Turki Al-Shiekh placing him on his February 22 card in Riyadh against Floyd Schofield.

“Tell him, ‘Don’t run,'” Stevenson said of his message that he wants Schofield informed of his fight next month. “He might try to go for a knockout early. When he realizes he can’t get it, he’ll be on the back foot.

“I think it’s going to be a tremendous fight. I think (Turki) is saving boxing. So once Tank comes along, I think the fights will happen,” Shakur said of his belief that Turki Al-Shiekh will feud between him and Gervonta Davis once he meets the Baltimore native.

“He seems like a businessman. I think he wants to make as much money as possible from the sport of boxing. That’s good for him,” Shakur said, reacting when told that Tank wants $150 million for the his rematch with Ryan Garcia to happen.

Stevenson’s injury problems

In recent workouts, WBC lightweight champion Shakur has been using only his left hand and playing cautiously with his surgically repaired right hand.

His brittle-looking right hand looks like it could break almost immediately once Floyd puts him under pressure in the first round. Stevenson will have no choice but to use to try and keep out the ambitious Schofield, promoted by Golden Boy.

If he’s fighting the 22-year-old Schofield (18-0, 12 KOs) with just one arm, he’ll be forced to run all night to avoid being overwhelmed by the youngster’s power punches.
