“My brother, Chase Filandro, was a bright light that had amazing skin for life,” wrote Ford. “So many loved him beyond words by so many and opened his heart to everyone he encountered. Chase was a keen traveler and was moved by the beauty of national parks. He always welcomed strangers with a smile and made friends along all the paths he traveled on.”
He continued, “To honor his life and remember his inheritance forever, we welcome you to contribute to a memorial for him to be located in or close to one of his favorite parks. Once completed, we will share the details so that you can visit and enjoy what Chase loved doing the most, knowing that he is right alongside you.”
Ford shared an update on the Gofundme page for Filandro, which collected more than 35,000 followers on Instagram sharing content from his travels, and thanked her for those who showed support after his death.
“Update: We are overwhelmed with the support for the Chase Memorial. Thank you for helping us reach our goal in just 13 hours, Chase clearly had so much impact on many,” read the message. “We continue to raise money to support the construction of an additional memorial in New York which is closer to home. Thank you all again.”
