Model and influencer Donald Zieben-Hood was arrested following the death of her husband, Jacob Zieben-HoodLast week.
Police with Donald, 40, went into custody after Jacob, who was found dead in their Harlem apartment on Friday, August 1, the New York Post Reported on Monday, August 4.
According to the post, Jacob, 34, had been found “on a toilet” and “covered with stab wounds.” Donald was ordered for first degree burglary, weapons possession and aggravating criminal contempt for breaking two defense orders preventing him from being near Jacob. He was refused bail.
No murder charges have been filed, although a manslaughter investigation is underway as medical auditors determine the cause of death.
The outlet referred to records as claiming that the couple had a stormy relationship and fighting before Jacob’s death. According to prosecutors in court on Sunday, Jacob told his father in a phone call that Donald was “coming after him” and banned him inside the apartment. It is also alleged that Jacob’s father also heard Donald call his son “abusive names,” according to the documents of the court obtained by the Post.
Hours later, police discovered Jacob’s body marked with stab wounds on his leg and head, including one who was cutting artery and caused fatal bleeding. Donald, by y PostAfter “several fractures on his arms asking for stitches” and “he told copies that he had a knife fight in their flat with Jacob the night before.”
Donald, a model that boasts nearly 70,000 Instagram followers, claimed police he went to sleep following the fighting and woke up around 4 am and found her husband died. (Weekly US reached out to Donald’s attorney for comment.)
This was the latest event in a pattern of domestic violence involving Donald as the alleged perpetrator. Since 2022, he has been quoted in nine domestic incident reports which included Jacob’s allegations that his partner had been choked and threatened with a knife. In 2024, Donald was arrested after he claimed to hit Jacob in his head and issued a defensive order, the Post Reporting.

In February this year, Donald was arrested for he allegedly choked Jacob in the middle of a dispute in their apartment. He received $ 5,000 bail, well below the $ 20,000 for which prosecutors asked, per Post.
Weeks thereafter, the police are alleged to have been called through 911 to the result of a fight between Donald and Jacob where the latter was bleeding from a break on his forehead. The pair at the time noted that Jacob had fallen and hit his head.
Then in June, Donald was arrested again – this time, because he is allegedly waving a kitchen knife and promised to “attack” Jacob. While the first faced a charge he broke a defense order, he walked away on $ 5,000 bail.
