Howe says Isak has to “win” the right to train with Newcastle teammates

Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, has made it clear that star striker Alexander Isak will have to show again before reinstating complete training with the workforce, in the midst of speculations on his future.

The Swedish striker has been at the center of the transfer rumors in recent weeks, and reports appeared in July that it is open to leaving Sant James Park.

This speculation was intensified last Friday when Newcastle rejected an offer of £ 110 million from Liverpool. In the midst of uncertainty, Isak has trained alone at his former club, Real Sociedad.

He did not travel with the squad on the preseason tour of Asia, and the club cited a “thigh wound” as a reason for his absence.

However, reports suggest that the 25 -year -old returned to the club’s training field on Monday.

Speaking at Newcastle Chronicle, Howe admitted that he has not yet spoken directly to Isak since the Liverpool candidacy was submitted.

“It’s like any other player, we hope it would come in and enter normally,” said Howe.

However, Newcastle’s chief also published a strong message about what he expects from all his players in terms of commitment and professionalism, adding: “You have to win the right to train -you with us.

“We are Newcastle United. The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team and part of a squad: you have to act in the correct way. So there is also at stake here.

“We assure you that any player does this to win the right to train with the group. No player can wait badly and train with the group normally.”

Without clarity about Isak’s agreement

Isak, who joined the Magpies of Real Sociedad on a record of 60 million clubs in 2022, had a prominent season last year.

He scored 27 goals in 42 appearances, playing a key role in the Newcastle Champions League classification through a fifth place in the Premier League. He also found the network in the final victory of the League Cup 2-1 over Liverpool.

Howe’s side finished his preseason calendar with a 1-1 draw against Tottenham in Seoul. After the game, when asked if Isak re -trained, Howe replied, “Of course, I would like it to do so or not, I don’t know at the moment.

“Other people have been treating this situation at home.”
