Bangladesh unveil 15-member squad for Champions Trophy 2025; no room for Litton Das



The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially presented the national selection for the next one ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025which will be hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. This announcement marks an important step as Bangladesh prepares to compete against some of the best cricket teams in the world in this prestigious One Day International (ODI) tournament.

Najmul Hossain Shanto returns as captain

Under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shantowho will captain the team, Bangladesh have named a 15-member squad that combines experience with youthful exuberance. Najmul will captain the team in the tournament, returning to the role afterwards Mehidy Hasan Miraz replaced by him during the previous bilateral series. He has recovered from a groin injury suffered in November.

There is no place for Litton Das in the Bangladesh team

Litton Das has been excluded from the 15-member squad. The decision follows concerns over the poor form of the wicketkeeper batsman, as admitted by Bangladesh’s chief selector. Ghazi Ashraf Hossain in december Litton had scored just six runs in three ODIs in the Caribbean. By its omission, jaker ali he is expected to take over the wicketkeeping duties.

Players in focus

Apart from Najmul, Mushfiqur Rahim, Towhid Hridoyi Mustafizur Rahman have rejoined the squad after missing the 3-0 ODI series defeat to the West Indies last month. Both Rahim and Hridoy return just in time for the tournament after injuries. Veteran Rahim is back after recovering from a finger injury, while Hridoy, like his captain, has recovered from a groin injury.
