Former England Cricter David Lloyd has stated that India has lacked the Senior Battlers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma at the Anderson-Tendulkar 2025 trophy. Lloyd said that blue men, about a 3-1 loss, may have achieved better results if they were virated and Rohit were part of the squad.
India planned a change in lead in the May Cricket in May, replacing Rohit Sharma as captain for the five -game test series in England. Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from the format. A few days later, Kohli also confirmed his departure from the tests, a decision that was made in advance.
In his Daily Mail column, David Lloyd praised India for his global performance in the test series, but said that they could not seize crucial moments. He added that the absence of virating Kohli and Rohit Sharma may have been the difference and that his presence could have changed the result.

“India has been very impressive about the series, but they have not won the main moments,” Lloyd wrote in his column of The Daily Mail.
“If Rohit Sharma or Kohli played played, I think the result would have been different. Some players baked the main moments and are proactive instead of reaction. Ben Stokes is fabulous. India will scratch their heads thinking how on Earth they could lose this 3-1,” he added.
David Lloyd also talked about Ollie Pope’s career numbers in the series. Lloyd has supported Brook a leadership role, citing his coherence and natural connection with Captain Ben Stokes.
“Michael Vaughan said he would prefer Harry Brook as vice-chic, and I agree. Brook is assured of a place on this side and looks like a leader. Naturally, Food Stokes,” said Lloyd.
“The simple thing is that the place of Ollie Pope on this side is vulnerable. Remove the runs against Ireland and Zimbabwe and their return is very modest. Its average in the fourth entry of a test is 16.7, and for a number three, which is not close enough.”
Ollie Pope’s position in England’s test is under a bad shape after his century at the opening of Headingley. He scored only 200 runs in the last four tests with a half century, raising his concern for his place at number 3.
India has played competitive cricket throughout the series, going through 1-2. Many believe that India has dominated more sessions in general, but the results do not reflect.
England was 339/6 as he pursued a 374 target on the races on the 4th of the final test in the oval. At one point, they crossed in 301/3, but suffered a collapse, losing three doctors for 36 runs before the bad light stopped the game.
India is now facing an ascending battle on the last day to avoid another defeat of the series in England. The series was non -stopped Kohli and Rohit Sharma, both who retired from the test cricket just before the tour. Shubman Gill took over Captain.
