Queensberry signs Joshua Buatsi: Frank Warren can relive his fading career in ancient Olympic?

Queensberry has signed Joshua Buatsi in his stable. The ex-champion of 175 LB of Wbo and the fights of the Olimpia Buatsi of 2016 will be lived live in Dazn.

BUATSI’s performance worries

Queensberry promoter Frank Warren has high hopes for the 32 -year -old Buatsi, despite his poor performances in his last two fights against Callum Smith and Willy Hutchinson. Buatsi surpassed both fights, but was lucky with a victory over Hutchinson.

Warren has the idea of potentially Buatsi against David Benavidez vs Anthony Yarde’s struggle on November 22 for WBC heavy weight title, or Victor of the Dmitry Bivol vs Artur Beeterbiev Trilogy. It is unlikely that Buatsi gets a shot against any of these fights.

Joshua Buatsi’s popularity problem

The problem is that Buatsi has never been a popular fighter and has had problems in his last two fights. It is not considered an essential type of opponent so that Benavidez or Bivol wants to fight. Buatsi is considered a usual British domestic fighter. There is nothing special in him. Surprisingly, Warren chose to sign him after his horrible loss in Callum Smith. Looked ready for the scrap pile after this struggle.

Promoting Fori profile

Warren has to put Buatsi through a Predating Shark Gauntlet in 175 For him to make fans interested in using a world title. The struggles like Craig Richards, Hutchins, Smith and Dan Azeez are not enough. Buatsi needs to fight younger fighters such as David Morrell and Imam Khataev.

If they cannot get them, Warren must attract some of the upper weights such as Osley Iglesias, Diego Pacheco or Christian Mbilli up to 175 to fight Buatsi. I can’t see that it beats any of these higher weights, but these are the types of fighters you need to fight to make it more popular.
