Shreyas Iyer presented as a player for the west zone
Shreyas Iyer had been made available to the next Duleep Trophy. Middle order baptism has played 14 test games for India. However, he has not been part of the test settings since February 2024, when he last presented against England.
Iyer was a key figure in the winning campaign of the Indian Champions Trophy in Dubai earlier this year. He also scored 480 runs on the Ranji 2024-25 trophy with an average of 68.57, including two centuries. PBKs finished runner -up in Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), with Iyer scored 604 runs in 17 games to an average of 50.33, including six fifty. However, the selectors chose not to choose Iyer for the series of England, instead of rewarding Karun Nair for their strong domestic form.

The 2025-26 domestic cricket season is scheduled to start with the Duleep trophy. This year, the Duleep trophy returns to its traditional zonal format, with teams selected by the state selectors of their respective regions. The Ranji Trophy will begin on October 15, 2025. Above all, the tournament will be played in two phases. Phase 1 will take place until November 19 and the elite phase is scheduled for January 22 to February 1, 2026.
