Samsung Electronics on Thursday reported profit in the second quarter, which missed expectations and has doubled from the same period last year.
The South Korean technological giant posted a quarterly profit of 74.6 trillion. Korean won that a little over 74.07 trillion won a year earlier.
Here are the results of the second quarter Samsung compared to the LSEG Smartestimate, which weighs on analysts’ forecasts that are more consistently accurate:
- Income: 74.6 trillion won ($ 53.5 billion) vs. 74.43 trillion. Won
- Operating Profit: 4.7 trillion won against 5.33 trillion.
While Samsung’s operating income in the second quarter won the forecast of about 4.6 trillion. Won, it was a steep drop with 10.44 trillion.
Samsung’s Operating Revenue also won the 74 trillion forecast.
The company is a leading supplier of memory chips, foundry and smartphones.
