At least 11 people were injured in a Walmart supermarket in Michigan, the authorities say.
One of the suspects was in custody after the incident in Travers -Sity, the authorities confirmed.
The nearest hospital said to treat 11 victims. “As a result, our ambulance department is currently higher than usual,” Monsana’s medical center said in social media. The local media reports said that three people had undergone the operation.
Personnel posted on the Internet show several police and ambulances in Walmart parking.
The Sheriff’s Office of the Grand Travers confirmed that he was investigating a “multiple incident with a knife at Wal-Mart at Traverse City.”
The suspect is a resident of Michigan and used a “sophisticated knife -style weapon,” Sheriff Michael Shi told reporters. The incident turned out to be a “random act”, he added.
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongin said the federal staff responded to providing the necessary support to the local authorities.
Governor Michigan Greetchen Whitmer said he “supported law enforcement agencies about horrible news.”
“Our thoughts are related to the victims and society that breaks away from this brutal violence,” she added.
Traverse City is located about 255 miles (410 kilometers) northwest of Detroit.
