He highlighted how the spinner has been doing well on the domestic circuit, and asked that if he is picked, who will replace him in the team ? In a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Varun Chakaravarthy is taking wickets one after the other. He has also done well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He took five wickets against Rajasthan and has been consistently good. Ever since he came back to the Indian T20I team, he has been picking up wickets every time “,
“The rumor market is hot, the atmosphere in Indian cricket has become so as we get many news based on sources and some of them come true, that Varun Chakravarthy might be picked for the Champions Trophy. If is picked, who will get out – Ravindra Jadeja that’s what I’ve been hearing.”

Aakash Chopra also spoke on reports about Ravindra Jadeja’s future in ODIs, saying that Chakravarthy could be added to his place alongside Axar Patel as an all-rounder. He added:
“I hope I haven’t heard this, but it has come now that Ravindra Jadeja might not be picked, and you might see Varun Chakaravarthy in his place in the XI. There is a strong possibility. So you will see Axar instead of Jaddu.”
The Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be announced soon. It remains to be seen who will be in the squad for the tournament
